Guess Who Supports Gay Marriage? (Shocking!!!)

Cindy and Meghan McCain, the wife and daughter of Senator John McCain, are the recent celebrities who have joined the "No H8" gay marriage support campaign.  Though John stands by his position and fight against gay marriage, he supported his wife belief as she contacted the campaign organizers herself to publicly show her support.  Conversely, Meghan has been an open advocate and ally for gay rights for a very long time.

I am not surprised that there is some Republican support for gay marriage.  However, in this case, I would have figured that Cindy would stand by her man's decision about this hot topic in America.  Her actions made me respect so much as an individual and a liberated woman.  In almost every political society, it is uncommon for the wife or husband of a politician to publicly differ on any bill or serious topic of popular debate.  My respect for Cindy has nothing to do with her support in gay marriage.  I respect people who are against gay marriage as well as people who support it like me.  

After all, we are all individuals.  We must form our own opinions unique to our beliefs and desires

Now, I wonder what policies do Bill and Hilary Clinton and President Barack and Michelle Obama differ?  Will any of them join the "No H8" campaign?

G-LINKED: Real Housewives Of Atlanta Might Dump NeNe & Kim

The third season of the Atlanta Housewives could reveal some major shifts in the new season, including new cast members. Pop the top for the details.

According to a source, NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak are demanding more money to appear on the show. Apparently, Bravo is unwilling to pay more and the producers are fed up with their extravagant requests. We hear the network is quietly making plans to move on without the two ladies.

They have been interviewing some major Atlanta prospects and want to move forward with adding a sixth housewife or replacing Kim and NeNe. Returning will be Kandi, Lisa, and Sheree who was rumored to be leaving the show. On a side note, Tameka Foster was in talks to join the cast but all the ladies said they would walk if she was added.

At least they all agreed on something.

Preside Obama Declares H1N1 Flu Emergency

President Obama has declared a national emergency to deal with the "rapid increase in illness" from the H1N1 influenza virus.

"The 2009 H1N1 pandemic continues to evolve. The rates of illness continue to rise rapidly within many communities across the nation, and the potential exists for the pandemic to overburden health care resources in some localities," Obama said in a statement.

"Thus, in recognition of the continuing progression of the pandemic, and in further preparation as a nation, we are taking additional steps to facilitate our response."

The president signed the declaration late Friday and announced it Saturday.

Calling the emergency declaration "an important tool in our kit going forward," one administration official called Obama's action a "proactive measure that's not in response to any new development."

Another administration official said the move is "not tied to the current case count" and "gives the federal government more power to help states" by lifting bureaucratic requirements -- both in treating patients and moving equipment to where it's most needed.

The officials didn't want their names used because they were not authorized to speak on the record.

Obama's action allows Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius "to temporarily waive or modify certain requirements" to help health care facilities enact emergency plans to deal with the "pandemic."

President Obama Will Give HRC Keynote Address

The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, announced today that President Barack Obama will deliver the keynote address at the 13th Annual National Dinner on Saturday, October 10, in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy will also present the first-ever Edward M. Kennedy National Leadership Award to Judy and Dennis Shepard. The award is named in honor of the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA), a champion in the fight for LGBT equality.

“We are honored to share this night with President Obama, who has called upon our nation to embrace LGBT people as brothers and sisters,” said Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese. “It is fitting that he will speak to our community on the night that we pay tribute to his friend and mentor Senator Edward Kennedy, who knew that as president, Barack Obama would take on the unfinished business of this nation – equal rights for the LGBT community, and for every person who believes in liberty and justice for all.”

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

The dinner is sold out.
