RANKED: 50 Greatest #1 R&B/Hip-Hop Hits Of 2000-2009

This decade in music saw a healthy competition for the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B/Hip-Hop across all sub-genres of urban music.  From pop divas to R&B crooners and east coast emcees to southern-slanged rappers and in between, over 100 songs topped the aforementioned charts in urban music.  G-Magazine Now compiled a list of the 50 top-charting singles that changed the game, made lasting impressions upon listeners and deserved their spot at the top.  Check out the list below.

MUSIC VIDEO: "Do You Think About Me" by 50 Cent

Controversial rap artist 50 Cent debuted his music video for "Do You Think About Me."  From his Before I Self Destruct album, the New York rapper features his famous ex-girlfriend/actress Vivica A. Fox.  The pair must have enjoyed their time working together as Ms. Fox played a bitter ex-lover who performed the most fatal attempts at avenging against her target 50 Cent.

Previous videos and singles from the Self Destruct album did not boost a celebratory reception from the buying public.  Perhaps this new single and video would reverse that.

Check Out The 2010 Grammy Nominees Led by Beyoncé , Taylor Swift, Maxwell and Lady Gaga

 

Check out the nominees for the 2010 Grammy Awards.  With an astounding 10 nominations, R&B diva Beyoncé is sure to be a big winner from the success of her I Am...Sasha Fierce.  It is of no surprise that country-pop darling Taylor Swift would be a leading nominee also.  Being the biggest album seller of the year, Taylor is up for eight nominations, competing in the top three categories alongside Beyonce.

Other multiple nominees include R&B crooner Maxwell, pop superstar Lady Gaga, Chicago rapper Kanye West and hip-pop group the Black Eyed Peas.  Surprisingly, R&B divas Whitney Houston, Brandy and Mariah Carey are snubbed, while R&B's worst male performer Trey Songz and Marcus P have at least two nominations apiece.

MUSIC VIDEO: "Crime Wave" by 50 Cent

While veteran New York rapper 50 Cent preps his highly anticipated album Before I Self Destruct, he drops a new video for the underground street single "Crime Wave."  Though the video is very straight-to-the-point, the cinematography was executed very well as a mini-movie, beginning with the opening credits.

Self Destruct will hit stores on November 23.
